New Sony Xperia XZs 32 GB
The Sony Xperia XZs is an update to Sony's flagship from 2016, the Xperia XZ. Or at least that's what the phone is supposed to be. What we got is pretty much the same phone with a slightly improved camera. Let's take a deep look at its characteristics.
The body of the Xperia XZs is completely indistinguishable from the Xperia XZ, with the exception of the camera lens. It has the same rectangular design, sharp corners, flat front and back. The smartphone measures 5.75 x 2.83 x 0.32 inches (146 x 72 x 8.1 mm) and weighs 5.68 ounces (161 g), the same as its predecessor. The only difference in the body is the larger camera lens on the back.
The fingerprint reader is still located on the side power button, which will cause a lot of problems. On the same side is the volume rocker and camera shutter button, while on the left is a lone SIM tray, combined with a MicroSD slot.
The Xperia XZs comes with a 5.2-inch display with a resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels, giving it a pixel density of 424 ppi. While this is not a VR-worthy display, it should New Sony Xperia XZs 32 GB be sufficient for most other use cases. Plus, it uses the same LCD panel we found on the Xperia XZ a few months ago, so it's nothing new here.
The Xperia XZs comes with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor, which is another aspect that Sony has left untouched since last year. We can assume the software will be the same, and we were not completely satisfied with the optimization when using the XZ with Nougat. Anyway, let's keep our fingers crossed that some updates have been introduced here, improving the overall performance of the device.
The Adreno 530 GPU should help with most Android games, so there are no complaints here.
Memory is the only department where Sony has actually changed something - adding another extra gigabyte of RAM, now for a total of 4GB. Storage remains at 32GB for the single SIM variation, but the international dual SIM version has 64GB. If you want to use an additional SIM card, you will have to say goodbye to the microSD slot - supports cards up to 256 GB.
The 2.900mAh battery is back. For a phone last year that was enough, but no more. Honestly, we expected Sony to increase the battery capacity at least slightly, but this aspect of the phone remains the same as before.
Xperia BE.
Finally a big change! The rear camera of the Sony Xperia XZs uses a new sensor capable of capturing 960 frames per second video, which gives some amazing super slow motion footage. In addition, it should improve the experience of photographing fast-moving objects such as cars, trains, birds, etc.
The front 13MP selfie camera looks a bit standard, not showing much even on the spec sheet.
It's hard to talk about the expectations for the Sony Xperia XZs. We already saw what the smartphone is capable of when Sony launched the Xperia XZ. The only noticeable difference will be the superiority of the camera. Overall, the XZs are not a bad choice, but if you already own the XZ 2016 and want to upgrade, check out the XZ Premium as the new XZs has nothing new to offer.
