Remember, at the beginning of April, we talked about the gaming Xiaomi Black Shark 4 Pro with buttons extending from the sidewall? Now Redmi has the same smartphone: it is called the K40 Gaming Edition. It is also playable and has identical trigger buttons on the end. In all fairness, it did not come out much later than Blackshark, but only reached us now. And for a reason!
And all because we brought from China a rather rare special version with one of the longest (if not the longest) names in the history of smartphones - Redmi K40 Bruce Lee King of Kung Fu Special Edition. A version released in honor of the legendary Chinese martial arts master and reformer, actor and producer Bruce Lee.
We must say right away that this model differs from the classic K40 Gaming Edition only in design, a slightly more sophisticated box, a charger in the color of a smartphone and the only memory option - 12 256 GB. Otherwise, these are the same devices with an accuracy of an inch, gigabytes and parrots in AnTuTu.
You can buy the gaming Redmi K40 today in four colors: gray, silver, black and, as in our case, bright yellow. The back of the first three bears the Fighting inscription, while the Bruce Lee Edition has the name of the special version and the slogan KO Fast Comes First. This model also has a side button in yellow and gold inserts under the slider, which is responsible for activating the triggers.

The processor is a top solution from MediaTek - a 6-nan bruce ometer chip Dimensity 1200. It is complemented by an impressive 5065 mAh battery, which can be charged from a complete unit in 42 minutes, and from 6 to 12 GB of RAM (in the Bruce Lee Edition, recall, 12 gigabyte).
There are also stereo speakers from JBL with Dolby Atmos support, a proprietary cooling system based on copper pipes, a high-speed Wi-Fi 6 adapter and Bluetooth 5.0. In the proprietary shell, several gaming chips are built in, allowing, for example, to raise fps in games or reduce network latency in them.
The side buttons slide out of the frame and hide into it manually: to do this, you need to move the small sliders near them. Additionally, this interface can be used in the operation of the system by configuring the operation of each of the buttons: this can be the start of video recording, taking a screenshot, calling the notification curtain, and so on.
This is how the buttons look in the complete case: even the sliders work.
There are three main cameras: a 64-megapixel main module, an 8-megapixel wide-angle lens and a 2-megapixel macro lens. It photographs almost 1 in 1, like the latest Xiaomi Black Shark - examples can be found here.
There is also an NFC module for contactless payments and built-in support for Google services even in the Chinese version of a smartphone: you just need to activate the item "Basic Google Service". Out of the box, the model runs on Android 11 with MIUI 12.5 shell.
In China, the Redmi K40 Bruce Lee King of Kung Fu Special Edition is on sale for 2,799 yuan (approximately 32,350 rubles at the exchange rate). Basic versions of this model are cheaper:
It is not yet known when the smartphone will reach the Russian market, but now we can say with almost 100% certainty that we will not have a Bruce Lee Edition.
